Online Identity theft is a continuously growing crime that is always targeting customers of financial institutions. Lone Star is committed to protecting your identity and customer information from these threats. You, the customer should also be aware of the following to ensure your confidential information is never compromised. To Help Prevent Identity Theft:

1. Lone Star will never email you to ask that you make changes to your account or else your online banking will expire. Most Identity thieves will try and catch your attention by providing a circumstance that if you don't do something, your accounts will be affected. This is never true. If we ever have to make changes to your account, we will only post notices on our website or will send out a letter in the mail. You will never have to take action into your own hands.

2. The bank will never call you to have you verify any account information. If someone calls and asks you to provide your Social Security Number, Account Number, etc., this is a scam to steal your identity. We will never ask for that information because we already have that information on our system when you opened your account.

3. The bank will never Fax you to have you verify any account information. There will be times when a Bank Officer may need a copy of your Driver's License or other Article to have on file. In this case, the Officer, with whom you should already have a relationship, will ask you to fax this information to one of our Fax numbers. If you are not comfortable with this or aren't familiar with the person you are talking to, then don't fax the information.

4. Always verify you are calling the correct phone number, dialing the right fax, sending to the right Email address, or accessing the correct website. We have taken steps to help make sure that when you access our E-Banking, you must setup a pass phrase and image that only you can identity. If you ever access a website that doesn't have these and/or aren't the ones you set up, you are not on the right website and are being subjected to a Phishing attack.

5. Report to the bank and proper authorities immediately when you feel that your identity has been stolen.
