Prosperity Bank is reporting that there is an automated calling and texting scam that is occuring targeting their customers to provide their debit card information over the phone because their card has been locked. The scam is actually targeting a broad range of phone numbers and may not necessarily be a Prosperity Bank customer.
Even though the bank that is being targeted in this scam is not Lone Star State Bank, we want to remind you that no bank will ever call or text and ask that you provide your debit card information over the phone.
Lone Star State Bank may from time to time alert you to potential fraudulent charges that have occurred with your debit card but will not ask that you provide any identifying information if the call has been initiated by us. We will only ask for identifying information if you have contacted us at one of our locations or via our online banking.
