- Make sure your Anti-virus software is kept up to date with the latest updates. There are free solutions on the internet, but generally the anti-virus software that you pay for is usually going to be more reliable.
- Use firewalls on your local network to add another layer of protection for all devices that connect through the firewall.
- Require a password to gain access. Log off or lock your computer when not in use.
- Use a cable lock to physically secure laptops when the device is stored in an untrusted location.
